Coastal humidity feeds algae, mildew and lichen on any elevation that stays shaded or damp. North-facing walls, anything under a tree line, and the sections behind a fence line are usually the first to go. Because the growth has roots in the surface, pressure alone knocks the top layer off and leaves the rest to come back within weeks.
We soft wash instead. A cleaning solution is applied at low pressure, given time to break the growth down at the root, then rinsed off. The siding is cleaned rather than stripped, and the result lasts considerably longer than a pressure-only wash.

Questions about house washing and soft washing
Will soft washing damage vinyl siding?
No. That is the reason for using it. High pressure can drive water up behind vinyl lap siding and into the wall cavity, which is where the real damage happens. Soft washing applies solution at garden-hose pressure and lets the chemistry do the work.
How long will my house stay clean?
On the coast most homes hold a clean finish for around a year. Shaded elevations and anything under a tree line will show growth sooner than a wall in full sun, so if one side comes back faster than the rest, that is normal rather than a failure of the wash.
Do you wash windows as part of a house wash?
A house wash rinses the exterior glass but is not a window cleaning service. If you want the glass finished properly we quote exterior window cleaning alongside it, which we do with purified RO/DI water so the panes dry without spotting.
