What we see in New Bern
New Bern sits where the Neuse and Trent rivers meet, and a lot of property here is on or near the water. Riverfront homes take constant moisture, so mildew and algae build up quickly on siding, soffits, porches and the undersides of decks. Docks, boathouses and bulkhead walks go green and slippery. That is soft wash territory: low pressure and a cleaning solution that kills the growth, rather than blasting the surface.
The historic district is a different job altogether. Older painted wood siding, original trim, aged brick and soft historic mortar can all be damaged by pressure. Failing paint comes off with the dirt, and pressure cuts soft mortar out of the joints. On older homes we work conservatively by default: a close look first, a test section where there is any doubt, and an honest answer if a surface should not be washed at all.
Away from downtown, the newer subdivisions look much like Jacksonville or Havelock: vinyl siding, concrete driveways and shaded elevations that turn green. Those get a standard soft wash on the house and surface cleaning on the concrete.

Pressure washing questions from New Bern
Will you clean a historic home in New Bern?
Carefully, and only after looking at it. Some historic exteriors clean up well at low pressure. Others have failing paint or soft mortar where washing would cause damage, and in that case we will tell you rather than take the work.
Can you clean my dock or boardwalk?
Yes. Docks, boardwalks and bulkhead walks are cleaned at low pressure so the wood grain is not torn up, and we keep runoff in mind on waterfront property.
Do you come out to New Bern?
Yes. New Bern is part of our service area, along with Havelock and the rest of the Carteret County side.
